We open an account at every casino, play the free welcome coins, request a prize and time how long it takes to arrive. Eighteen casinos, one honest order. No purchase is ever necessary.
Ten casinos worth your time
Ranked by how quickly prizes arrive, how usable the free coins are, and how clearly the rules are written. Every figure was checked in October 2026.

Four things decide the order
Weighted the way readers tell us they care about them. Nothing else moves a casino up or down the list.
Payout speed
35%Hours from the redemption request to money in the account, measured on our own test accounts and checked against reader reports.
Usable free coins
30%The free Sweepstakes Coins set against the minimum you need to redeem. A huge Gold Coin number on its own scores nothing.
Fair terms
20%Playthrough, redemption floor, expiry dates and how plainly the rules are written.
Support and app
15%How fast a real person answers, and whether the site works without friction on a phone.
From sign-up to first prize in five steps
- Check your state
Thirteen states have closed sweepstakes casinos and Oklahoma follows from November 1, 2026. Registering from one of them wastes your time.
- Register with real details
Name, date of birth and address must match your ID. Every casino checks before the first redemption.
- Collect the free coins
The welcome Sweepstakes Coins land straight away; daily log-ins and social promotions add more.
- Play each coin once
Most casinos here use a 1x playthrough. Golden Hearts and ThrillCoins use 2x.
- Request a prize
Once you hold the minimum, usually 50 SC, ask for a redemption and note the time. We did the same.
Open in 36 states
Casinos check your location every time you log in, so an account opened elsewhere stops working the moment you connect from a closed state.
Not available
These states have shut sweepstakes casinos through legislation or enforcement.
Everywhere else, sweepstakes play is open to adults who meet the casino’s age rule: 18 at most casinos, 21 at some, and 21 for everyone at Stake.us.
Each casino keeps its own list and updates it without warning, so read the registration page before you commit.
What a sweepstakes casino actually is
A sweepstakes casino looks like an online casino but runs under promotional sweepstakes law rather than gambling law. You play slots and table games with two kinds of coins. Gold Coins are for fun only; they can be bought in packages but can never be turned back into money. Sweepstakes Coins come free, either alongside a Gold Coin purchase, through daily bonuses, or by mail, and they are the ones you can redeem for cash prizes once you have played them through and reached the casino’s minimum.
Because no purchase is required to get Sweepstakes Coins, the model is legal in most of the United States. That is also why every casino on this list has a free postal entry route and why you will see “no purchase necessary” on every page of this site. The coin packages exist because mail is slow, not because buying is the only way in.
Despite our name, nothing here is real-money gambling. What separates a good sweepstakes casino from a poor one is how it handles money going the other way: how low the redemption minimum is, how many times you must play through a bonus, and how quickly an approved prize reaches your account. Those three figures are the spine of every review on this site.
